This dress is one of Lena Medoyeff's classic designs. The overlay portion of the dress is very sheer, cream-colored crepe silk with cream and blush pink floral appliques and silver and olive/gold silk thread embroidery. The dress is fully lined in cream silk.
It is cut on the bias so there is give and stretch - it is amazingly comfortable. Because of the bias cut the dress size is versatile for a size 4 - 6 range. (The label size is actually a Small.) The hem is high/low with an overall tea length (front) / top of ankle (back) hemline. Cowl neckline with tank straps. The back of the dress is cut to the natural waist, as seen on the mannequin. The dress can be worn with or without the rich chocolate satin sash seen in the photo. As a bride, I wore the dress with the sash and BCBG silver strap stilettos and elaborate chandelier earrings. The dress can be styled more casually, as well, after the wedding with flat summer sandals, understated jewelry or no jewelry, and sans sash so you can get years worth of use and wear for a number of events from the dress. I only wore this dress one time, however, as a bride. (Also, Lena Medoyeff Studios sells the sashes in many, many colors so you can buy them individually from her if you want a different color.
